Converse isn’t the only member or sneakerdom celebrating a major milestone. Though significantly more modest, Singapore label Flesh Imp is proud to be turning seven and marking their anniversary with a pretty nifty and very limited adidas collaboration. The Superstar 7, part of the “F7esh Imp Sins” Celebration, pays tribute to new school and old school urban weaponry by incorporating a sword and a M-16 into its design and spirit. In fact, when you cross the silhouette of the sword with that of the M-16 in just the right way you get the Chinese symbol for 7. Clever. We always kinda assumed that adidas would shy away from paying tribute to urban violence, but according to the Superstar 7 packaging the “weapons of aggression” symbolize a commitment to “comfort, style, and substance.” We don’t exactly follow, but hey, adidas needs to save its doublespeak for all the ongoing accusations of human rights violations.
More after the cut.
